How to test if the seat hip point location is within tolerance

When developing car seats, mannequins are used to simulate the human sitting position. In this application the position of the hip point is of particular interest.

The FaroArm® provides a flexible and mobile 3D measuring tool for determining this position. Known points are measured in order to establish the basis for the coordinate system. Once this basis is established, the coordinate of the hip point is also defined in the system – making it possible to check whether the position is within the required tolerance range.
