We are proud to introduce FARO® BuildIT Projector 2019, the latest release of our modern and intuitive software used to generate and plan laser projection workflows. With user-friendliness as one of its core strengths, users can create laser projection jobs in no time
Here are a few of the new features in this latest release.
PROJECTION
PROJECTION REPORT
You can now generate a summary report of the layers that were completed as well as the In-Process Verification results.
AUTO-REALIGNMENT WHEN DRIFT CHECK FAILS
Depending on the situation, when a drift check fails, some users want the projection to stop, and others want the projector to automatically re-align and resume the projection, with minimal interruption.
One of the properties of the alignment node is "Realign on failed drift check". Set this to True to have the new behavior.
RETRO-REFLECTION TRIGGER TO PROJECT LOCALLY OR TO PROJECT NEXT LAYER
When retro-reflective material (worn as a band by the operator) is passed through the laser path, you have the choice between one of three actions:
Project Locally: Only the portion of projection that is nearby will be projected. By doing so, we eliminate flicker.
- Next Layer: The next layer in the sequence to be projected.
- Continue Process (F5): In special applications, a Tracer can be used in a fully automated process that pauses until the user flashes the retro-reflective material.
You can make your selection in the broker's Control tab.
JOYSTICK CONTROLLER
The most suitable remote control is a game controller, with two joysticks (one for scanbox position, and the other for scanbox size) and 16 buttons which can be programmed to your preferences. This gives you access to a wide range of actions, allowing you to run through the plan without looking at the monitor. We recommend using the Sony Playstation 4 Controller.
Simply connect your computer to the controller, go to the Control tab and click Joystick to access the configuration window. Press your controller buttons to know which button you are configuring.
PREVIOUS AND NEXT LAYER BUTTONS
We've added two buttons in the Project toolbar, which are easily mappable to your RemotePoint Jade with the keys Ctrl+Left and Ctrl+Right.
IMAGING
ABSENCE/PRESENCE WITH EDGE VERIFICATION
In BuildIT Projector 2018.5, we've introduced In-Process Verification, allowing users to verify the presence or absence of an object using the TracerSI imaging capabilities.
We've made strides in user-friendliness by creating a new verification method that doesn't require a golden scan like Image Verification, but that gives a more robust and complete picture than Point Verification. It extracts edges from the 2D scan and color-codes them based on their distance to the CAD's edges. An object is considered Present if most of the edges were detected.
You'll find the command in the Project menu: "Add Edge Verification to Plan".
ALIGNMENT POINT PREVIEW
When measuring alignment points, you will get a preview of what was scanned, with a red dot where the features was detected.
This helps troubleshoot alignments when working with damaged retro-targets or low-contrast features, allowing you to ensure a high-accuracy alignment and projection.
USER EXPERIENCE
INTERACTIVE WIDGETS FOR VIEW MANIPULATION
Manual alignment can now be done using the interactive manipulator in the 3D view. This provides the user with a visible representation of the click-and-drag manipulation.
DISPLAY HIDDEN OBJECTS WHEN SELECTED
Objects that are selected in the manager will be displayed in the 3D view even if they are hidden, providing users will full visibility to the entities that have been chosen. The shading is transparent, differentiating between entities that are shown and not shown.
DISPLAY TEXT IS OUTLINED
Display text is now outlined for easier viewing. Text will no longer potentially fade into a similarly colored background, and instead stand out for clear visibility.
