St. Louis County PD gains time & accuracy with Laser Scanners

August 13, 2019

Increasing numbers of law enforcement agencies are turning to 3D Laser Scanners to accurately document crime and crash scenes. The St. Louis County Police Department recently purchased three FARO® FocusS Laser Scanners to assist in their public safety efforts, and they consider the investment money well spent.

“We knew it would be beneficial. We didn’t know it would be this beneficial,” said Sgt. Patrick Hokamp of the Laser Scanners. The equipment has saved hours of processing time, an advantage for departments that need to keep an eye on overtime budgets. Plus, the ability to revisit a scene at any time enables investigators to examine evidence from new angles, confirm measurements and allow other partners, like prosecutors, to get a realistic view of the scene.
