How to check tolerances in seat foam testing with 3D comparison

To ensure consistent quality in the production of car seats it is necessary to measure foam components.

Thanks to its non-contact scanning function of the FARO® ScanArm, it is an ideal measuring tool for this application. No pressure is exerted on the foam component and it can be easily recorded with rapid speed. The rear of the component can also be measured with no difficulty, simply by turning it round. The A and B surfaces can be scanned independently and registered together within the software. The data acquired can be used for sections through the component or for variance comparisons relating to CAD.

NOTE: While this video shows the FARO Edge ScanArm ES, all of our current FARO Quantum FaroArm® and ScanArm family is perfect for this application.
