What's new with BuildIT Projector 2020

FARO® BuildIT Projector 2020 Software offers valuable new features to upgrade your manufacturing process for higher efficiency, traceability and error-proofing. The net result of these features is faster, more streamlined and feature rich workflows. The new features offer the greatest benefits in composites and ply lay-up applications and can also be leveraged for other applications including welding and assembly.

 

USER EXPERIENCE

OPTIMIZED LAYOUT

With a focus on a smoother, more guided alignment workflow, BuildIT Projector can now be used on a tablet. Keeping all features within arm's reach of the operator, providing the convenience of an app without compromising the access to any feature.

EASY TOGGLING

It is now possible to easily switch between Planner and Operator with a click of a button while within the application. This allows jumping between the two modes to quickly edit the projection plan directly on the shop floor’s computer, reducing operator downtime.

 

TOOLS AND ANALYSIS
SAVE ANIMATED VIEWS BY LAYER

Layers can be associated to a saved view so that they are automatically recalled as the operator goes from layer to layer. These saved views will also be included in the report.

NESTED LAYERS

Next Layer will move to the next layer regardless of it being nested in a collapsed layer or not.

CLIPPING BOX

Users can define a clipping box to limit the projection to what is inside the box.

ENHANCED TOOLS FOR MODEL EDITING

Users can easily hide objects from the same color or size.

Planners are given additional tools to edit CAD models and communicate information to operators, from the ability to create coordinate systems, add annotations (dimensions, images, notes) and more.

FAST & ACCURATE POSITIONAL VERIFICATIONS FOR PLY LAYUP

Building on the capabilities offered in previous versions, IPV (In-Process Verification) was enhanced to be faster and more reliable in verifying composite ply positions. It is now possible to add a point verification specifically on an edge, increasing the accuracy of positional checks.

Now that ply positions can be digitally verified, companies can keep a record of it and ensure the quality of their layups without taking time from supervisors.
