Focus Laser Scanner used to clarify body-camera film

November 17, 2017

CASE STUDY:
Exterior shooting scenes, such as one on the San Jose University campus in 2014, are difficult and time consuming to properly document. Visual Law Group, a company that specializes in providing forensic scene visualization and documentation, chose to document this shooting scene by capturing it with both a FARO® Focus Laser Scanner and a drone.

The data was captured quickly and was used to digitally preserve both the smallest details of the scene and a macro, overhead view that included the roofs of vehicles and buildings. This data is then used to clarify film that was taken at the scene and determine measurements critical to the case.
